Into the fields and tea mountains, extending the classroom to real-life scenarios. In Grade 7 and 8, a programme of study combining nature study and cultural heritage was launched, with IB learners exploring agriculture and tracing the tea culture, exploring and reflecting on each step of the study and making the concept of 'unity of knowledge and action' a real-world concept.
迷宫的青砖小径上，二十四节气的线索等待同学们探寻。在导师引导下，同学们通过观察植物、解密线索，梳理出二十四节气的农事规律，将地理、生物与传统文化知识融合，完成了一场跨学科的探索。
Clues to the twenty-four solar terms were waiting for the students to explore along the brick path of the maze. Under the guidance of the instructor, the students combed through the agricultural laws of the 24 solar terms by observing plants and deciphering the clues, integrating geography, biology and traditional cultural knowledge to complete an interdisciplinary exploration.
同学们在皮影戏台前屏息凝神。当灯光亮起，锣鼓响起，牛皮做的人偶在指尖翻飞成戏，忠孝节义的故事，比任何说教都更具穿透力。亲身体验皮影戏，从“观众”变为“参与者”，同学们体验着文化传承带来的乐趣。
The students held their breath in front of the shadow puppet theatre. When the lights were on and the gongs and drums were sounding, the figures made of cowhide flew into a play at their fingertips, and the story of loyalty, filial piety, righteousness and integrity was more penetrating than any sermon. Through the experience of shadow puppet, the students experienced the fun of cultural heritage from spectators to participants.
亲手参与唆螺制作，让同学们体验“做中学”的乐趣。让"非物质文化遗产"这个抽象概念，变成了唇齿间鲜活的麻辣鲜香。
Participating in the production of river snails allows students to experience the fun of 'learning by doing'. The abstract concept of 'intangible cultural heritage' was transformed into the fresh and spicy flavour between the lips and teeth.
钻木取火拉开序幕。在体验这一古老生存技能的过程中，同学们感受到了求生的不易以及团队合作的重要性。大家反复尝试、互相鼓励，当钻木取火的青烟升起时，有学生抹着汗珠笑道：“燧人氏当年一定也这么狼狈。”
During a fire drill, the students experienced an ancient survival skill, they felt the difficulty of survival and the importance of teamwork. We kept trying and encouraging each other. As the smoke rose from the fire, some students wiped away beads of sweat and laughed: 'Suirenshi must have been in such a mess back then.
在“戏韵匠心”课程中，同学们深入了解了盔帽制作技术，学习中国传统戏曲的知识。当一套套制作精美的戏服呈现在眼前，穿戴上盔帽与戏服，仿佛穿越时空，与戏剧中的角色共舞。一张张照片镌刻下文化认同的印记。
In the Theatre Arts and Crafts course, students gained an in-depth understanding of helmet-making techniques and learned about traditional Chinese opera. With a series of beautifully crafted costumes in front of them, wearing the helmets and costumes was like travelling through time and space and dancing with the characters in the drama. A photograph engraved the mark of cultural identity.
活字印刷的墨香里浮动着“四书五经”的只言片语，也散发着"文化传承者"的自觉。在繁琐的工序中，同学们完成了与伟大文明的时空链接，践行了这一古老的技术。
Amid the ink fragrance of movable-type printing, fragments of the "Four Books and Five Classics" seemed to float in the air, accompanied by a palpable sense of identity as "cultural inheritors." Through meticulous craftsmanship, the students completed a temporal and spatial connection with great civilizations, embodying this ancient technique.
夏布书签制作环节，用自然材料设计书签，将美学与环保理念结合，作品展示环节充满个性化的解读。同学们将蒲公英封存在苎麻纹路里，这些灵光乍现的时刻，是他们用传统技艺进行的“创意表达”。
In the ramie bookmark-making session, they designed bookmarks using natural materials, merging aesthetics with eco-consciousness. The presentation of their works was filled with personalized interpretations. By preserving dandelions within the weave of ramie fibers, these flashes of inspiration became their "creative expressions" through traditional craftsmanship.
湘丰茶园的云雾中，同学们腰间系着竹篓，化身茶农，学习"一芽一叶"的采摘之道。茶垄间，弯腰采撷的剪影构成最动人的劳动画卷。动手体验摊青、揉捻、炒茶，仿佛与茶叶共同经历了一场生命的蜕变。炒茶锅里翻腾的不只是青叶，还有对"一粥一饭当思来之不易"的顿悟。
Amid the misty expanse of Xiangfeng Tea Garden, the students tied bamboo baskets around their waists and transformed into tea farmers, learning the art of plucking "one bud, one leaf." Their silhouettes bending among the tea rows composed the most touching tableau of labor. Hands-on experiences—withering, rolling, and pan-firing the leaves—made them feel as though they were undergoing a life transformation alongside the tea. In the woks, it wasn’t just green leaves tumbling but also an epiphany of "how every grain and every thread comes from hard toil."
品鉴课上，同学们学习茶文化和礼仪，提升了人文素养与审美情趣。“原来我们喝的茶叶有这么多品种和讲究。”课程不仅是对茶文化的探索，更是对生活美学的追求。
During the tea-tasting session, they delved into tea culture and etiquette, enriching their humanistic literacy and aesthetic sensibilities. "Who knew there were so many varieties and nuances in the tea we drink?" The course was not just an exploration of tea culture but also a pursuit of life’s artistry.
教育，是一场向美而行的遇见。三天的沉浸式体验，同学们主动参与学习过程，通过独立思考和团队合作解决实际问题。他们学会了批判性思维，锻炼探究能力并拓宽国际视野，也学会了如何在自然与文化的交融中诗意地栖居。在行动中践行着IB学习者培养目标的核心素养。
Education is an encounter that moves toward beauty. Over three days of immersive experience, the students actively engaged in the learning process, solving real-world problems through independent thinking and teamwork. They honed critical thinking, investigative skills, and a global perspective, while also learning how to dwell poetically at the intersection of nature and culture. In action, they embodied the core competencies of the IB learner profile.
